Paris Fashion Week Ends: Lanvin’s Dresses Hit; Vuitton’s Pants Miss

• The Lanvin show celebrated the little black dress with lots of lovely details. [Telegraph]

• Marc Jacobs started the Louis Vuitton show on time, leaving attendees racing to their seats. The collection was a commercialized version of the better, more artistic collection he showed in New York — and the pants were awful. [WSJ]

• Robin Givhan also doesn’t like the resurgence of MC Hammer pants — those classics with wide hips that taper at the ankle shown — should at Louis Vuitton, but she loves Lanvin’s fall ‘08 line. [WP]

• Versace’s Italian villa seems to be for sale. Madonna, Elton John, and new Versace model Patrick Dempsey have all been guests at the house, which could fetch $30 to $38 million. [WWD]

• Agyness Deyn scored the No. 1 spot on Tatler’s best-dressed list, knocking Kate Moss to No. 2. Moss had been first the past two years. [British Vogue]

• Vera Wang’s Lavender label, her more affordable line, will offer handbags and small leather goods in the spring of 2009, retailing for $300 to $1,000. [WWD]

• Donna Karan will auction her wardrobe in New York on March 14 and 15. Proceeds from items like a dress worn by Barbara Streisand, vintage items that have inspired her collections, and the bed she shared with her late husband will benefit the designer’s Urban Zen initiative. [WWD]
