The boys at our brother blog, Grub Street, are scratching their heads right now over the latest kitchen war. The weapon? Bespoke suits. First actresses became cover girls, then singers. Now it’s the likes of David Chang and Simon Hammerstein. That’s right, the city’s big chefs are hitting our turf, dressing up in the pages of Esquire and Maxim. To which we say: Think of the male models! What will become of them? You’re putting poor Cole Mohr or Adam Senn out of work! Then again, we’d give anything to see these spatula-wielding newbies bust out a Blue Steel.
