The value of the British pound has fallen against the dollar for eleven days in a row, and British people are FREAKING OUT. The Telegraph reports (emphasis ours):

The value of £1 fell 0.6 per cent to $1.86 and has now fallen from $2 in just the last two weeks. The eleven-day run of losses is the longest stretch of falls for at least 37 years, according to analysts.

This isn’t good for the British economy since it looks like they’re on their way to joining the good ol’ U.S. of A in the Land of Recession. To Great Britain we say, sorry — recession sucks. We’re having just about as much fun here as we do at tedious six-hour bar mitzvah ceremonies we can’t escape. That said, excuse us if what we are about to say sounds insensitive but we are thrilled about this news, too. Because it means we can finally go to London! And (gasp) shop. At places like… Selfridges! Whee!!!

And on the flip side this ought to free up a little shopping room for Americans in places like the Apple store and Diane von Furstenberg this holiday season, which have been clogged with Brits trying to save their Sterling. The Telegraph notes that an iPod, a DVF dress, and Star Wars Legos now cost £83 more than they did last Christmas. Boo. Freaking. Hoo.
