Topshop Pushes Back Opening But Will Launch U.S. Website Soon

We’ll start with the bad news: Topshop’s Soho flagship will probably open in November rather than October as it had originally planned. The ambitious construction plans for the 40,000-square-foot space are probably what set them back. But we’ll forgive them the delay, because in addition to four sales floors, 32 fitting rooms, a VIP suite for celebrity shoppers, and a shoe lounge, the store will also have “futuristic lighting tubes and a DJ booth, both suspended from the ceiling,” according to WWD. It’s like Shopping Disneyland meets Marquee When It Was Cool! Or something.

And now for the good news: Topshop will launch a U.S. e-commerce site on September 9, the very same day Kate Moss’s next Topshop collection (her seventh!) launches. So instead of shopping in darned British sterling, you can shop in good ol’ U.S. dollars. And the first 2,000 shoppers who spend more than $50 will receive a free Kate Moss charity T-shirt. If you don’t want to wear it, at least bring it to the big Soho opening in November to dry all those tears of joy that will undoubtedly gush from your eyes.
