7 For All Mankind Files Lawsuit Against Knockoffs

The denim company 7 For All Mankind is suing manufacturers who are knocking off their ass-embroidery branding. After sending out cease-and-desist letters to no avail, the denim brand filed a lawsuit against InDesign Apparel and Oleg Cassini for producing a line with back pockets that look exactly the same as their trademarked swoop and swirl. Seven For All Mankind is asking for “up to $150,000 per work infringed,” which would amount to millions. And if this goes through, for InDesign and Oleg Cassini, it means copyright infringement laws are going to bite them, quite literally, in the ass. [Cityfile]
