Stockholm native Dorothea Barth Jörgensen broke into modeling at 16 when she won the Swedish Elite Model Look contest. Now, two years later, she’s become a face to watch. After her captivating brown eyes and girl-next-door look landed her an editorial in the Swedish magazine Rodeo and the October 2008 cover of Japanese Vision, she went on to have a breakout runway season for fall 2009, booking 44 shows total. She made her runway debut for BCBG Max Azria and walked for top-tier designers in New York (Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler), London (Christopher Kane, Richard Nicoll), and Milan (Burberry, Jil Sander, and Prada). By the end of Paris her rising star status was fully confirmed, as she strutted down the Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Chanel, Lanvin, Karl Lagerfeld, and Dries Van Noten catwalks, and closed the Anne Valerie Hash show. With a breakthrough that strong, a campaign can’t be too far in the future.
