A Preview of the DecadesTwo Pop-up

High-end Los Angeles consignment shop DecadesTwo is launching a fleeting, four-day pop-up in Soho tonight in honor of the L.A.-based store’s ten-year anniversary, and we got an early glimpse of the goods. Packed into the sleek upstairs showroom of Kiki de Montparnasse, the shop is a labelmonger’s paradise, stocking 1,500 items from Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Manolo Blahnik, Lanvin, Alexander Wang, Balenciaga, and more, for 60 to 80 percent off retail prices. Co-owners Christos Garkinos (a former Virgin Megastore exec) and Cameron Silver collect merchandise from 2,500 consigners worldwide, including celebs like Selma Blair, Julianne Moore, and Rachel Zoe. When we stopped by amid a flurry of unpacking, we were impressed by the gorgeous selection and serious bargains: a red-and-blue printed Balenciaga silk blouse for $220; a gauzy gray-and-black Temperley frock for $340; a lace-trimmed Prada cocktail dress in yellow silk for $410; and McQueen patent leather heels with snakeskin detailing for $220, to name a few. Separate sections will be devoted to pre-fall and items currently in stores, and the Kiki boudoir downstairs will be draped with evening gowns from labels like Marchesa and Balmain. Though the shop isn’t open to the public until the 16th and 17th (tonight’s opening party and Friday are reserved for private clients only), the cache of clothing and accessories will be replenished daily. (The sizes are right, too, spanning 0 to 12 in clothes and 35 to 40 in shoes.) Click ahead to view more of the pop-up’s offerings.
