Marc Jacobs Hands Off Resort Collection to New Director, Dangles Models Out of Windows

Marc Jacobs has been a busy, busy man. Awards. Wedding plans. But even the best American designer of our time can’t do everything at once. Our favorite enfant terrible welcomed new Louis Vuitton design director Julie de Libran (replacing Peter Copping, who decamped to Nina Ricci) by handing her the reins for the resort 2010 collection. Usually a proving ground for Jacobs’s Vuitton design partner, this resort collection is surprisingly more “Marc” than in previous years (the little dresses have a tad more downtown cheek to them). In other Jacobs news, the new ads for Marc’s own namesake label have hit the Internet. As opposed to the pastoral vibe of last season, this current Jurgen Teller–shot campaign displays poor Natasa Vojnovic dangling out of a prewar high-rise window. We hope she got hazard pay.
