This Friday, Boy by Band of Outsiders designer Scott Sternberg will be on the sixth floor of Barneys to help customers design their own Boy blazers and place preorders from his cool and beachy spring 2010 collection. The line’s coveted schoolboy blazer can be revamped with Sternberg’s help in several different fabrics, like classic navy blue, a black-and-white houndstooth, or a bolder red plaid. In addition to the base fabrication, the designer will come stocked with a variety of trims and buttons for ultimate personalization of each piece. The single-breasted, hand-tailored blazers are perfectly cut and look chic with any outfit, all year long. The price tags run high ($1,400 to $1,850 depending on details), but the satisfaction of owning a one-of-a-kind Boy blazer will be priceless to some.
