First Chelsea Clinton was rumored to be wearing Vera Wang to her epic wedding, then Oscar de la Renta, and now the rumor is Vera Wang again in WWD. WWD snapped Chelsea visiting Wang’s showroom in an awesomely giant floppy hat that hid her face and most of her hair. However, you can see poking out underneath the back of the hat a cluster of curls pinned into an updo — just like she might wear at her wedding. Hair is seldom this exciting! WWD also noticed she had a full face of “perfectly applied” makeup, leading the world to believe she had just completed her hair and makeup test for the big day and was going to Vera’s place to try on the dress and see how it all looks together. Unless she’s wearing Oscar. Remember, no one knows for absolute certain yet.
But WWD thinks it’s Wang! Now, neither Chelsea nor Wang have commented on the wedding, but the sartorial elements of it should be no less high-maintenance than the fancy $15,000 port-a-potties:
In addition to the wedding gown, [Wang] is said to be designing the bridesmaids’ dresses as well as the flower girls’ dresses. The mother and daughter have reportedly met with Wang five to 10 times in the past four months for an hour to 90 minutes each time. They allegedly often arrive up to 30 minutes late for their appointments.
Whatever Chelsea wears to wed in will be truly exciting to see. However, she’s probably not going to wear anything ridiculous or weird. She may wear something ridiculously expensive or ridiculously voluminous, but we can’t see this girl in anything that’s just simply ridiculous. Just look at the hair — it’s classic bridal! But speculating is still fun, so: Do you think she’ll go for a something poufy enough to sit down on without a chair, or something sleeker?
