Zac Posen Isn’t Showing All His Clothes in Paris

For the first time this season Zac Posen will show his collection in Paris, where he feels people understand him better than us fashion plebes in New York. “I always thought this was the city I was meant to work in after graduating from Central Saint Martins,” he tells British Vogue. But he won’t be off the New York calendar entirely, which is a good thing since Zac Posen not showing at all in New York feels about as right as Donald Trump with luscious locks of hair that blow in the wind. Posen will be in New York for Fashion Week to show his lower-priced Z-Spoke line, which he kind of has to show here since it’s sold at Saks Fifth Avenue. His show is scheduled for Saturday evening at the Stage in Lincoln Center.

The designer adds:

“Z Spoke is about creating a new American look which is effortlessly fun and playful. Collection is emotional — all about textures, construction and techniques which are true to the legacy of French fashion.”

Hey, New Yorkers have emotions! But they’re probably more along the lines of anxiety and trying-too-hard than effortlessness and playfulness.
