Fug Girls: Monique Lhuillier’s Show Is Mecca for TV Stars

The first twenty minutes we spent waiting for the Monique Lhuillier show to begin sort of felt like a reality show meet-and-greet: We spotted Olivia Palermo posing for camera-phone pictures with fans, and overheard Brad Goreski of The Rachel Zoe Project very, very patiently indulging a woman who was painstakingly explaining what sounded like a business plan.

“There’s no one here who appeals to the 18-to-24 female demographic,” a cameraman next to us bitched to his producer — seemingly sincerely — but all we know is that, judging from the reactions we saw, Brad and Olivia are exactly who’s appealing to the 18-to-24 female demographic these days. Doesn’t that guy have cable?

Luckily, the reality stars were eventually supplanted by TV stars. The celebrities were led out from the backstage area, one by one, so as to allow the photographers to get their unobstructed full-body shots. This was one show where none of the ladies needed to fear anyone seeing her entire outfit, either: Everyone looked annoyingly great.

First out of the starting gate was 90210’s Jessica Lowndes, sporting a navy-blue cocktail dress and a huge grin. She was followed in quick succession by Odette Yusman and her impressive mane of hair, and the equally well-coiffed Giada De Laurentiis, whose head looks considerably bigger on TV than it does in real life. (That’s a compliment, Giada, we promise.) Bringing up the back of the pack were Perrey Reeves — who we’ve seen everywhere this week, but who still looks fresh and well rested — Lost’s Maggie Grace, showing a lot of leg in a black minidress, and Emma Roberts, whom we overheard talking about her private Pilates lessons, thus surely sating the intense curiosity of weirdos everywhere who’ve been wondering where she works out.

Last but not least, we spied former Gilmore Girl Alexis Bledel, who is sincerely gorgeous in person, though she looked a bit apprehensive as she made her way through the crush of reporters and photographers surrounding her. We noticed as one of them grabbed her and asked if she had any fashion tips. “Have a little fun?” Alexis offered, after a moment. Sounds like a plan to us. Especially for that coveted 18-to-24 demo.
