Jean Paul Gaultier Makes ‘Sexy’ Couches

Jean Paul Gaultier isn’t satisfied with sexy bras and sexy dresses and sexy shoes; he wants to make sexy furniture, too. Specifically, sexy sectionals. According to the Post, his new collaboration with French furniture-maker Roche Bobois includes “mattress-like modules” with the designer’s signature tattoo prints and sailor stripes, perfect for lounging in your shoulder-padded cone bra. But God forbid you laze about on this furniture watching a DVD and eating cereal; nay, these couches are meant for something far naughtier. Because (wink, wink) they’re supposed to remind you of beds.

Gaultier proudly claims that his sofa “brings the bedroom into any room in your house,” assuming you’d want to do dirty things on the same piece of furniture where your parents sit when they visit. He unveiled part of the collection in Paris in May, and he’s debuting the pieces Stateside this Thursday at the Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Manhattan. Because nothing says sexy like a big decorator showroom, of course.
