The decision, for a celebrity, to thrust her children into the spotlight voluntarily can’t be an easy one. The young’uns didn’t choose the fame — who’s to say if that’s what they really want? All of them may not want to be Willow Smith. Jennifer Lopez has been very protective of keeping her twins Max and Emme out of the limelight, but sources say the 2-year-olds will appear along with their mom in the campaign for Gucci’s new children’s line, which is supposed to leak this week. The kids were seen shooting the ads with Lopez on the beach in Malibu in July, but sources said then that Lopez wouldn’t let the label show their faces. WWD says the images “feature a sun-kissed Lopez and her two-year-old twins decked out in Gucci clothes and accessories, including sunglasses.”
Something led Lopez to give over her children’s young bodies to sell fashion. WWD hears that something is charity: Gucci is reportedly donating to UNICEF and Lopez’s Maribel foundation, which focuses on bringing health care to mothers and children in remote areas around the world. So to help save needy kids around the globe she’s reportedly putting her own in an ad campaign for expensive designer clothes targeted to kids growing up in far different situations than the ones she’s saving. At least her kids will have baby pictures they won’t be embarrassed of. Not every teenager can have friends over, pass by the mantle shamelessly, and say, “Oh yeah — Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott shot that. That’s just me when I was 2. Dressed entirely in Gucci.”
