Meet the New Girl: Bambi Northwood-Blyth Doesn’t Smoke Dope, Chew Rope, Dance, Prance, Romance, or Drive a Truck

With a heavy brow, piercing blue eyes, and an overflow of personality, Bambi Northwood-Blyth has a beauty that’s all her own. The Aussie model first made waves in her hometown of Melbourne, where she was tabloid fodder, dating Ksubi founder Dan Single. After establishing herself in her home country, she flew Stateside and signed with Elite Models New York. The 19-year-old debuted at the spring 2011 Jen Kao show; also walking for rag & bone and Diesel, she closed for the latter. In London, Little Miss Bambi received Love magazine’s Katie Grand stamp of approval: Northwood-Blyth was booked for Giles, Topshop Unique, Loewe, and Emanuel Ungaro, all styled by Grand. Closing out her time in Paris, Bambi walked for Chanel and Balenciaga. At those last two shows Bambi displayed her surprisingly versatile look, while retaining her distinct sensibility — a mark of a top model in the making.

How did you get discovered?
Never was. Still discovering myself.

You walked for a slew of top shows. Pick one show that was memorable for you.
Everything was memorable. It was a crazy month. Working with Katie Grand was unreal and I got to do a great mix of shows with her. Balenciaga was WOW. Chanel and Karl — WOW WOW.

If you weren’t modeling, what would you be doing?
Studying entrepreneurship at university in my hometown of Melbourne, Australia.

Tell us something random and totally weird.
I don’t smoke dope, chew rope, dance, prance, romance, fight, fuck, shoot, or drive a truck.

You’re twenty minutes late to your appointment, and you have no time to get dressed, what would you wear?
What I wear everyday. Leather pants, leather jacket, and a singlet. Uniform equals never late!

Last book read?
1984. Read it at school. Revisited it after watching The Truman Show. People are watching you.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
Still living in my happy house with my man @dangerousdanman. Traveling the world, working with great people, and enjoying my life.

Favorite thing about being a model?
Working and playing all in one.

Worst thing about being a model?
Sometimes it’s more work than play!
