Sarah Rutson Doesn’t Want to Be the New Fashion Director at Barneys, Either

After reports flew around last week that new Barneys CEO Mark Lee was choosing between Vogue’s Virginia Smith and Lane Crawford’s Sarah Rutson to replace Julie Gilhart’s newly vacant spot as the women’s fashion director at Barneys, both candidates have since denied any interest in the job. Smith quickly dismissed the rumor about herself last Thursday, while Rutson stated over the weekend, “I have no intention or plans to leave Lane Crawford.” So, back to square one.
