Breast-Enhancement Surgeries Are on the Rise; Rhinoplasty and Liposuction Are Less Popular

A new study released by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons shows that since 2000, breast implants and breast lifts have increased 39 percent and 70 percent respectively, while nose jobs, liposuction, face-lifts, and eyelid surgeries have all decreased markedly. So are women suddenly more unhappy with their boobs than their faces? Not really: One reason for the waning popularity of some procedures is that they’ve been replaced by less invasive measures like Botox and wrinkle fillers; breasts, on the other hand, cannot be plumped with injections (yet). The most likely people to get cosmetic surgery are women (91 percent) who are between the ages of 40 and 54 (about 50 percent) and Caucasian (70 percent).

Increasing non-invasive treatments:
Botox injections: up 584 percent
Wrinkle fillers: up 172 percent
Laser hair removal: up 27 percent
