Beloved British fashion journalist Hilary Alexander confirmed via Twitter on Friday that she’s retiring from her position as fashion director of The Telegraph at the end of June. She’s not disappearing so much as scaling back: She’ll continue to freelance for the paper, doing one page a month for a year. In her newfound free time she says she plans to go back to school to study archaeology, adding, “Think of the clothes!” Of course she’s chosen another field involving large, elaborate headwear.
