Project Runway Installing Virtual Runway on the High Line; Man Repeller Talks Blogging

• To fete Project Runway’s tenth season, the show plans to install a virtual runway on the High Line at the Chelsea Market Passage between West 15th and West 16th Streets. According to Racked, it “will incorporate real-time virtual emotions of Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn, Nina Garcia, and Michael Kors, which will be activated whenever someone walks by.” Sounds hilarious. • In an article about blogs becoming destination sites, Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine remarks: “I definitely didn’t think [blogging] was a sustainable career, and I think that’s why I did so many brand partnerships and interviews … I thought, ‘I’m going to get everything out of this that I can because who knows how long this is going to last?’” [AdWeek]

• Yesterday, Karlie Kloss helped restore CITYarts’ Pieces for Peace mosaic at the Jacob H. Schiff Playground in Harlem. She said, “If I can do this here, maybe I’ll retile my bathroom … It’s not as hard as it looks. It’s kind of fun. It’s like arts and crafts.” [Page Six/NYP]

• If you can’t drop $70 on Lady Gaga’s fragrance Fame, you’ll still be able to smell like “an expensive hooker”honey.” Gaga tweeted that her perfume will be sold in smaller-sized bottles for an affordable $30. [Elle]

• The H&M flagship at 640 Fifth Avenue might be moving out in 2014, if it decides not to pay more for rent. [NYP]

• After garment industry unions threatened to hold a big strike next month, the Cambodian government agreed to raise wages and increase cost of living allowances. Beginning September 1, workers’ monthly wages will increase to at least $73. They now make $66. [WWD]

• The Museum at FIT relaunched its e-museum, the MFIT Online Collections, adding 875 images of more than 600 objects and better searching capabilities. [Racked]

• Diane Kruger said: “Karl bizarrely loves Josh.” As in, Lagerfeld and Jackson, respectively. [VF]

• Suzy Menkes surveyed the jewelry shops on the Place Vendôme in Paris, describing a piece by Chaumet that “was a shoulder harness, a narrow string of diamonds to be shrugged over bared skin or silken clothes, an inspiration drawn from paintings of past.” We’ll take a dozen. [NYT]
