Are Bushwick girls ready to pay $300 for highlights? Stylist Chelsey Pickthorn is gambling on it with the opening this week of her boutique salon, Pickthorn. The color specialist first made her name at Manhattan’s Orlo, where she created model Abbey Lee Kershaw’s otherworldly platinum for the runway. Now Pickthorn and her right-hand woman, Jocelyn Simone, have transformed a grubby ground floor apartment on Wyckoff Avenue (“there were a bunch of Euro-traveler guys living here”) into a bright, quirky-chic hangout, complete with reclaimed wood mirror frames, a Victorian-style chaise, and antique chandelier. “There are so many fashion and music industry people in the neighborhood,” says the Portland transplant, who’s made Brooklyn her home for the past four years. “I figured it was time.” Kershaw and singer-songwriter Neon Hitch have already popped in, preopening.

Pickthorn, haircuts, $150; single process from $120; highlights from $325, 61 Wyckoff Ave., Brooklyn, 718-928-7336
