Leave it to the British to work Victorian fantasy into spring’s wardrobes — the London runways have seen plenty of prim, princess-like touches, specifically dazzling rhinestone appliqués and florals and lace affixed to sheer silk chiffon. Christopher Kane added white lace and what looks like strips of artist tape to his simple separates, mixing in huge baroque rhinestone settings. Erdem showed neon jewels sewn on sheer fabric in floral patterns, and Temperley London sent a nude dress painted with pale art nouveau flowers down the runway, using a crystal belt as a finishing touch.
