Look Out for Romney-Ryan Merch in Latin America

Ever wondered where all the losing campaign’s T-shirts go after the election’s over? According to Bloomberg Businessweek, campaign T-shirts don’t appreciate in value the way collectible pins and buttons do, so unsold clothing is recycled or sold for cheap overseas. Alan Garada, a merchandise recycler and reseller who sold unused donated McCain-Palin wares overseas, told the magazine that “by Christmas, many Latin Americans may be sporting Romney gear.” A printing and advertising company that did Romney’s Missouri merchandise predicts that, although Romney merchandise “was hard to move,” there’s still money in a Paul Ryan T-shirt. Here’s hoping the same’s true for our Herman Cain 9-9-9 plan coffee mug.
