Yesterday, as the search continued near Los Roques for Vittorio Missoni and the five others whose plane went missing one week ago, a body was found 500 meters away from the port of La Guaira (on the mainland, close to Caracas), according to Venezuela’s El Universal. Some reports linked the grisly discovery to the Missoni case; the body was quickly determined to belong to a fisherman who suffered an accident the night before.

Today, the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (Italy’s CFDA) sent around an e-mail asking the fashion community to retweet Ottavio Missoni Jr.’s January 6 tweet: “Vittorio Missoni is missing. ” Angela Missoni, Vittorio’s sister, also used Twitter to release a new statement, reading in part: “I would like to thank on behalf of my parents Ottavio and Rosita, my nephews Ottavio, Giacomo, Marco, my brother Luca and our entire family, all our friends and the multitude of people that, even not knowing us personally are so close to us with affection and solidarity. In such a difficult moment this support is giving us the strength to hold on.”
