Halston Is Opening Stores

The brand — which returned to fashion’s consciousness once Sarah Jessica Parker, Harvey Weinstein, Marios Schwab, and Tamara Mellon joined its team and then collectively fled — plans to open both Halston and Halston Heritage (its lower-priced line) stores this year, beginning with three Heritage boutiques in March, WWD writes. The debut site will be on Madison Avenue at 83rd Street, and the others at Beverly Center in L.A. and the Somerset Collection in Troy, Michigan.

Ten additional stops are slated to open during the next twelve months, and we could see 50 to 100 Halston Heritages worldwide sooner than later. CEO and chairman Ben Malka said the stores are “built to make money the first day,” adding, in terms of sales per square foot, “I would say that I’ve been extremely conservative, shaving off high percent points of what the mall tells us is their averages in order to plan for the worst and aim for the best. We are going to build the client base. We will see the adjustments that I need to make.” Halston certainly does try, try again.
