Hey, it’s Friday, and here’s some good news: 15-year-old Pakistani girls’ education activist Malala Yousafzai has left the Birmingham hospital where she was being treated for head wounds sustained during a Taliban assassination attempt in October, the Guardian reports. She has to go back later this month or early next month for cranial reconstructive surgery, but at least she’s out of harm’s way. Following a promise from the Taliban to continue targeting Yousafzai for her promotion of secularism, her father was given a diplomatic post at Pakistan’s consulate in Birmingham that will allow her family to stay in the U.K. for up to five years. While we’re on the topic, check out these old-but-still-precious get-well cards for Malala at Rookie.
