The Making of a Collection, Part 2: Sketching Silhouettes for ‘the Ohne Titel Woman’

Yesterday you saw the first installment of the Cut’s five-part video series with the designers behind Ohne Titel documenting the incredible effort it takes to put out a collection for New York Fashion Week. Now that their inspiration boards are filled with images pulled from art exhibits and stacks of swatches cover their desks, it’s time to determine which sketches will ultimately be made into samples. One way they weed through the piles is to get feedback from the customers they want wearing their clothes: “the Ohne Titel woman,” as they refer to each one. First up is Visionaire editor Cecilia Dean, who advises designers Flora Gill and Alexa Adams on sketches while stopping by their studio for a fitting. Later, Caroline Issa of London’s Tank magazine (and the stylist for Ohne Titel’s last two runway shows) gets giddy while seeing sketches matched to swatches for the first time. See more in our video above.
