Let’s Put Rita Ora on More Magazine Covers

Rita Ora landed one of Elle’s annual “Women in Music” covers (Adele got one, too), and she looks great. Fine, the Philip Treacy Mickey Mouse ears are borderline twee, but this woman can make pretty much anything look good. Not that she had to work too hard in all the couture dresses she wore in the accompanying spread, styled by Joe Zee, which included Dior’s crystal-encrusted couture bubble dress, a pink tulle Chanel gown, and a gauzy Valentino.

Should you presume that Ora is just another pop star whose look is manufactured by a team of stylists, then here’s some evidence to the contrary: She apparently does some of her own dress requests, in person. From her Elle interview:

I went up to [Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman] and said, ‘Hi, I’m Rita. Nice to meet you. I need to wear your dress.’ She was like, ‘What dress?’ They’ve got 10 million dresses. I said, ‘Look, I have your dress as the screen saver on my phone. This red dress needs to be on my body.’

She’s talking about this one, of course, and she was right. Here’s hoping her fashion cred continues to rise, because we could look at pictures of this woman all day.
