Watch an Exclusive Clip From Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s

The latest documentary on Fashion World hits New York theaters today — this time, on Bergdorf Goodman. (Department stores: the final frontier!) Directed by Matthew Miele and titled Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s, the film looks into the extravagant window displays of the iconic Fifth Avenue luxury shopping destination by speaking to key players, from designers to editors, whose lives have been linked to the flagship. Karl Lagerfeld, Oscar De la Renta, Vera Wang, and Diane Von Furstenberg all included, with plenty of BG memories.

Watch above for an exclusive clip on designers Jason Wu and Isaac Mizrahi sharing a few words of advice for young designers trying to break into the scene. As Wu puts it, “The third floor is like a laboratory for talent.” Or as Mizrahi puts it more bluntly moments later, “If your clothes are not at that place, then they have no future … sorry. Right?” Yeah, probably, though let’s not think too hard about where Mizrahi’s clothes are currently sold.
