Jourdan Dunn Joins Model Diversity Fight

Jourdan Dunn, who has always been vocal about the lack of diversity in fashion, has joined Iman, Naomi Campbell, and Bethann Hardison in their campaign to raise awareness and get designers to change the mostly white industry. She said in an interview with the Guardian,The people who control the industry … say if you have a black face on a magazine cover it won’t sell, but there’s no real evidence for that. It’s lazy.”

She continued, “I want to talk about what goes on. A lot of people are scared to speak up. People think it’s all glamorous and good and that all models get treated the same, but there is still a lot of BS that happens.” Dunn, who in 2008 was the first black model to walk Prada’s runway in a decade, has been historically fearless in tweeting her opinions, and will continue to use her social-media platform to call out designers and casting agencies for instances of racism. She says she hopes other models will do the same.

Looks like the army is increasing, but has there been any change yet?
