Two years ago, while everyone in the United States was obsessed with BB cream, Korea had moved onto their newest obsession: Amore Pacific’s Color Control Cushion Compact. Yes, it’s technically a CC cream, and  it’s old news that Asia has continued its progress across the alphabet beauty landscape. But this particular product was the object of so much obsession in Korea — because of its high-strength SPF (SPF 50) and moisture-derived texture — that it developed a waiting list.

And the product is now available Stateside. Putting aside whether you “believe” in CC creams and their hype, consider this to be a moisture-infused light foundation with a super radiant finish. The secret lies behind the way the foundation is delivered. Concealed inside the compact is a small, circular well with a foundation-drenched sponge, which spring loads formula onto your finger when you press into it. The color goes on sheer, is light, and becomes invisible when buffed into the skin. Bamboo sap gives the foundation its supremely hydrating feel. Unlike traditional foundations, which are water-in-oil based, this CC Cushion Compact is 100 percent bamboo sap based, which lends it antioxidants, moisture, and nine amino acids. The cushion even comes with a refill, for when you inevitably run out. The only downside is that it comes in just four colors.
