Bridget Jones Wouldn’t Get a Date Online

Bridget Jones’s Diary author Helen Fielding believes no one would have paid any attention to the titular Jones in today’s online dating market. She’s not bitchy enough. As research for her latest book, Mad About the Boy, Fielding made two online dating profiles, the Daily Mail reports. One woman wore a sweater and professed a love of literature; the other was called “SuperLuckyBitch,” tagline: “You’d be lucky to get a date with me.” “Well, I bet you can guess who was the most popular,” Fielding said at a Los Angeles reading. “‘SuperLuckyBitch’ got all the replies.” Fielding met with one online suitor but admitted to be doing research for a book, which sounds like the start of another very contemporary chick lit series.
