There is still a year until Fifty Shades of Grey brings BDSM to the big screen, but the editors at Elle are so excited that they went ahead and put its star, Dakota Johnson, on their March cover. The Joe Zee–styled spread is a teaser for what we can expect from the (hopefully) steamy film — a brunette Johnson in thigh-high stockings, Manolos, pencil skirts, rolling around in sexy feathers, etc.
Considering Johnson, daughter of Melanie Griffin, is relatively unknown, save for bit parts movies like The Five-Year Engagement and the (wrongfully) cancelled Fox show Ben and Kate, it’s quite a gamble for the magazine to put her on the cover of their second-largest issue of the year, over 365 days before her first major role even hits screens. But behold the power of Twilight-inspired fan-fic, and the legion of loyal, horny super-fans. Johnson is primed for BFD-dom. When she inevitably blows up, Elle has the bragging rights to her first major cover. Well, until Vogue snags her for 2015, that is.
