After months of rumors, anticipation, many Instagrams, a very nice-sounding lunch at Valentino’s Paris chateau, and an elaborate rehearsal dinner at Versailles (Lana Del Rey did “Young and Beautiful”), Kim Kardashian and Kanye West finally got married at Florence’s Fort di Belvedere on Saturday.
People reports that Miami pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr. officiated; Andrea Bocelli sang; the vows were “intimate and spoken softly”; and Kanye was “the typical nervous groom, swigging obsessively from a bottle of water and shifting his weight from one foot to the other.” It’s still not clear how many people attended the wedding — as many as 600 souls may have watched Kimye officially become one — but one thing is for sure: Jay Z and Beyoncé were not there. They were so not there that Beyoncé posted a makeup-free selfie from somewhere that wasn’t Italy just as Kim and Kanye’s ceremony was getting started. Make of that what you will — and, of course, congratulations to the #worldsmosttalkedaboutcouple. We made it.
