Coach’s New Campaign Has Extra Art Cred

The roster of photographers who shoot blue-chip fashion campaigns is a narrow one: Bruce Weber, Steven Meisel, Juergen Teller, David Sims. Which is why it’s refreshing that Coach’s fall campaign — its first under new-ish creative director Stuart Vevers — incorporates the work of a lensman more often associated with gallery shows than with scented pages. That would be Joel Sternfeld, who was one of the inspirations for Vevers’s debut collection. The campaign images, shot by Meisel, are layered over Sternfeld’s landscape shots of the High Line, for an interesting, collagelike effect. Lexi Boling and Binx Walton feature in the ads, which were styled by Karl Templer. Also front and center: the brand’s new Rhyder bag.
