Hood by Air is splitting up — but not in the way you might think. Designer Shayne Oliver told Style.com that the brand is using the exposure and funds from its CFDA nomination and LVMH Special Prize win to divide into three separate branches: Hood by Air wardrobe pieces, HBA printed pieces, and an “artisanal collection,” which will be shown in Paris. (It’s left unclear whether it will be as part of Paris Fashion Week, or separate. The former two branches will continue to show at New York Fashion Week.) Oliver explains his grand plans for the artisanal collection thusly:

“It will be Hood by Air for sure. It’s just really special. And it will be a presentation as opposed to being a show, definitely meant to be intimate and one-on-one. It’s going to push the direction of this whole season. It’ll be the fire starter.”

Big talk, but it remains to be seen how he can possibly top last season’s voguing extravaganza.
