The late Lauren Bacall is getting a fashion tribute to her inimitable style. Next spring, the Associated Press reports, the Museum at FIT will unveil a retrospective of her enviable wardrobe. Plans for the show were already underway before the star’s death, but, museum director Valerie Steele tells the AP, Bacall wrote to ensure that it would be “high-quality — Diana Vreeland style.” The show will spotlight a quintet of Bacall’s favored designers — Norman Norell, Marc Bohan for Dior, Pierre Cardin, Yves Saint Laurent, and Emanuel Ungaro — with a focus on her ‘50s and ‘60’s wardrobe. (Of course, Bacall was stylish throughout her life, as our retrospective slideshow makes clear.)
