Here’s a sobering reminder that catcalling is not in fact a joke: A man was knocked unconscious after allegedly defending a group of women from street harassers in Philadelphia this weekend, NBC reports.
According to Philadelphia police, the 39-year-old man (who was visiting the city from Texas) was out around 2:45 a.m. on Saturday morning when he noticed several men in a black Nissan taunting a group of women on the street. After reportedly telling the men to “Watch what you’re saying,” a man got out of the car and punched the victim in the head, knocking him unconscious. Police are still trying to track down the suspect, who fled the scene.
