While Mayor Bloomberg didn’t exactly have an adversarial relationship toward la mode — he was no stranger to a Fashion’s Night Out appearance — he never invited designers over to his house for canapés. De Blasio is going to do just that on Wednesday night. The statuesque mayor will mingle with designers at Gracie Mansion, Women’s Wear Daily reports. DVF, Zac Posen, and Prabal Gurung have all received invites, and First Lady Chirlane McCray, who’s also supported local fashion by wearing Nanette Lepore to the mayoral inauguration, will co-host.
