Editor’s Picks: 5 Things I Liked on Friday

When the weather’s nearing 90, it can be hard to cram into a packed room and look at a bunch of layers come down the runway. But yesterday’s shows brought plenty of pieces that would go well with the endless summer. Here, 5 things I liked on Friday:

1. Classic shirts at Peter Som — especially this one, a button-down shirtdress with an oddly fluted back.

2. Monique Lhuillier made us want to drop everything and wear blush-pink taffeta.

3.  It was hard to decide which was better at Jason Wu: the knit mock-neck dresses or the draped iridescent sequined pieces, but it was the final look — a navy bias-cut silk halter dress that floated down the runway in sync to FKA Twigs — that took the cake.

4. Extreme cat eyes and bumped pony tails at Cushnie et Ochs, which set the right mood for the cut-out tailoring.

5. The real show-stopper: a chain mail dress at Wes Gordon.
