Last season, Jeremy Scott made headlines with his debut collection for Moschino: a kitchy celebration of lowbrow culture, featuring odes to McDonald’s, Hershey’s, and SpongeBob. The fast-food fashions were instantly embraced by professional street-style-baiters Anna Dello Russo and Rita Ora, and similar SpongeBob stylings have since been seen on Michelle Rodriguez and Pharrell. With this in mind, we sent our Fashion Week correspondent, comedian Abbi Crutchfield, to Lincoln Center in an oversize SpongeBob costume and toting a happy meal as a purse.
