Comtesse Jacqueline de Ribes — perpetual figure on the International Best Dressed List and owner of one of the most enviable wardrobes ever — is getting her own Costume Institute tribute. A WWD item today says that the muse to Valentino and YSL (the latter once called her an “ivory unicorn”) will exhibit the best of her showpiece-filled collection there in the fall. According to the item, she and Harold Koda, the Institute’s curator in charge, are still “ironing out the details,” but the show is to open November 3 and close at the end of January 2016. It’s shaping up to be the greatest peek into a dream closet since their Nan Kempner retrospective in 2006.
