In memory of L’Wren Scott, her former partner Mick Jagger is establishing a scholarship for fashion students at Central Saint Martins in the late designer’s name. According to a release, the grant will support one student at the prestigious design college per year, through the 2017 school year. While Scott was self-taught and never attended design school, she became friendly with the late Louise Wilson, who served as the university’s M.A. course director for two decades, after they met at the British Fashion Awards.

The school’s M.A. fashion course director Fabio Piras said, “I am very grateful to receive this extremely generous scholarship package. Our students sacrifice much to take up this course and work extremely hard while they are here. I am very proud of the fact that this course, through its alumni, continues to be recognized as a major contributor to the future of the global fashion industry.”
