Well before he parted ways with Emilio Pucci after this past Milan Fashion Week, rumors had swirled that Peter Dundas’s next move would be succeeding  Roberto Cavalli at his eponymous label. Today, Women’s Wear Daily is reporting that Dundas has been named creative director at the house, with his first collection set to walk at MFW in September. (What this might mean for his daily cross-continental plane commute is still unclear.) Update: The house has confirmed the news, with Roberto and Eva Cavalli commenting, “The choice of Peter Dundas was made with the desire to evolve a style that combines glamour, tradition, and innovation, recognized worldwide as the signature of Cavalli since the birth of the house.” Dundas, who had worked at the brand prior to his time at Pucci, added, “This is a homecoming for me. It is an honor for me to continue to evolve the wonderful world of Roberto Cavalli and I am very excited by the possibilities and potential of this unique brand. I cannot wait to get started.”

Dundas had been at Pucci since 2008. Now rumors of his successor there — which seem to center around Marco Zanini, formerly of Schiaparelli — will be the next talking point.
