WWD reports today that after seven years, legendary makeup artist Gucci Westman will be stepping down as Revlon’s global artistic director. Westman is best known for creating beautiful, natural makeup (she also she created Cameron Diaz’s “homely” look in Being John Malkovich — a job she called “a challenge”). With Revlon, Westman carved out a fashion-focused identity for the brand and created innovative drugstore products, such as Revlon’s Skinlights, which is still one of the best drugstore luminizers of all time. In statements to WWD, both Revlon and Westman reflected positively on their time together. Westman said, “It’s been an incredible seven years, and I loved the variety of experiences. This was a great chapter in my career, and I’m excited for all that’s ahead.”
