Just over a week after hackers leaked the personal information of 37 million Ashley Madison users, the cheating site’s parent company, Avid Life Media, announced Friday morning that CEO Noel Biderman is stepping down. “This change is in the best interest of the company and allows us to continue to provide support to our members and dedicated employees,” Avid Life Media wrote in a statement.

A co-founder of the adultery website, Biderman has been the CEO of Avid Life Media since 2010. The company plans to continue running its dating sites, which include Cougar Life and Established Men, which will be led by the senior management team until a new CEO is appointed. In Friday morning’s statement, the company reiterated its commitment to protecting its customers’ privacy. “We are actively adjusting to the attack on our business and members’ privacy by criminals,” they wrote.

Currently, Ashley Madison faces multiple lawsuits in the U.S. and Canada for failing to protect users’ data, and reports have linked at least two suicides to the data breach. Earlier this week, Toronto police announced that Avid Life Media is offering a reward of $500,000 (Canadian) for information leading to the arrest of the hackers behind the data dump.
