Designer turned director Tara Subkoff seems to have a thing for “It” girls and technology: Her first feature film starred Chloë Sevigny and dealt with the subject of cyberbullying, and her latest short, for the mystical jewelry brand MANIAMANIA, centers on Dree Hemingway and her selfie stick. In Alchemize Your World, Hemingway traipses around the Upper East Side wielding her phone, wishing “likes” could be transformed into love.
