Outfit of the Week: Light Fall Layers

It sounds counterintuitive, but a sleeveless turtleneck can be one of the most versatile pieces in your wardrobe. Now that there’s a chill to the air, it adds just enough warmth to your outfit that you can skip a jacket. This Adam Lippes merino-wool version is definitely on the luxurious side, but if you’re interested in the same look for less, try this chunky black knit. Worn layered over a long-sleeved tee, it’s casual, but if you want to dress it up, it pairs nicely with a crisp white tee.

Instead of just wearing slim jeans, try playing with proportion — these cropped, slightly wide-legged trousers add volume and length without overwhelming the frame. You can go weird and finish it off with glove heels, but if you’d rather stick to a traditional shoe, a pair of classic pumps works equally as well.
