Your Favorite Self-Help Book Will Soon Be a TV Show

Now that decluttering expert Marie Kondo is a New York Times best-selling author and one of Time’s 2015 100 Most Influential People, and has convinced millions of us that it’s totally normal and necessary to have conversations with our clothes, here comes the book-to-television deal.

Deadline Hollywood reports that NBC is developing Kondo’s cult guide to self-help through purging, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing, into a scripted comedy. The show follows “a young woman in a moment of crisis who attempts to get her messy life in order” — though, honestly, the coming-of-age plot hardly seems necessary. I could easy watch once-a-week, 30-minute installments of Kondo folding socks the right way and be satisfied.
