How to Have the Ocean at Your Fingertips

Photo: RGB

James Joyce once called the color of the sea “snot green,” but he should write the ocean an apology and get a manicure with RGB’s Sea polish. In a pool of simple black polishes for winter, this dark metallic stands out by capturing the moody color of a turbulent sea so clearly that you can almost smell the salty breeze. Held one way, the polish looks like a simple black; held another, it glimmers and shifts to reveal a murkily pretty undertone of beetle green. Ursula the Sea Witch might request one of her minions to paint this shade on her toenails. Like all RGB polishes, it remains largely intact and chip-free after a week.

RGB Polish in Sea, $18 at RGB Cosmetics.
