Erykah Badu, musician, silver-haired siren, and questioner of God’s work, is lending her talents to Fashion Week. She’s teamed up with designer Kerby Jean-Raymond to style his upcoming Pyer Moss show. Speaking to Dazed, Badu said, “[Kerby and I] were a match made in fashion heaven. We share an eye for truth through art. Though risky at times, he stands in his truth. I’m inspired by the bold statements he makes in this sometimes fickle industry.”

Badu is familiar with the other side of the fashion curtain, of course. She’s been a face for Givenchy’s ready-to-wear line and Tom Ford’s White Patchouli fragrance in the past. Like the Pyer Moss “Black Lives Matter” show from last season, the upcoming show aims to focus on elements of racial injustice and the black experience in America. An outspoken supporter of Black Lives Matter herself, Badu has set the stage for an exciting show to watch this month.
